Final Reflection

2) What sticks out to you as the most formative experience? The experience that you'll remember years later? What was your most joyous experience? What experience are you most proud of yourself for accomplishing?
Easily the most formative experience and the experience I appreciated the most was moving my website to Wix from Sitey. At first I was very disappointed that I would have to rebuild a website from scratch, especially because I don't feel I'm the best at utilizing technology.
3) At the beginning of the semester, I mentioned that I wanted each of you to develop an entrepreneurial mindset. And we repeated the mantra -- I am an entrepreneur. Now, at the end, do you see yourself as an entrepreneur? Do you think you have moved closer to developing an entrepreneurial mindset?
I always saw myself as an entrepreneur, but I really believe this is the first class that forced me to hone those skills so I could better define how I want to make a difference in the world as an entrepreneur.
4) What is the one recommendation you would make to the students who are going to journey down this path in the future? What would you recommend they do to perform best in this course? What would you recommend they do to foster that mindset?
Set a schedule! In this class, because assignments are due practically every other day, it is easy to skip two or three assignments in a row, because it could only amount to two or three days (especially if multiple assignments are due on one day). Set a schedule, set an hour aside so you can thoroughly both do the assignment and do any readings, as well as post on Yellowdig.

Week 14 Reading Reflection

1. The most interesting thing that I learned as we near the end of the class is the potential of the individual trying to make an impact in the world through their venture. Everyone has the potential to make a very big difference in the world.

2. I wasn't confused by any part of the reading this week. For the most part of readings this semester were extremely straightforward.

3. If I could ask the author two questions one would be how does he feel like he could make a difference through a venture in particular?

4. I agreed with the author during this week's reading.

Google Gold

1) A discussion of your general approach and strategy to search engine optimiation (SEO). What were some of the activities you did for each blog post to pursue SEO?
I wanted tags that would also serve as promotional slogans. On my instagram page (IG: _oliver_telusma_) I would do promotional flyers before releasing an article.
2) What were your keywords. How did you select those keywords? Did you change or refine your keywords through the semester?
My key words were "next up" and "make progress" because I wanted key phrases that would also serve as branding.
3) How did you use social media to enhance your SEO efforts? What your your surprises or general impression of using social media to improve your blog's profile? Was social media generally receptive of your blog, or did it get ignored?
The company that I focused on was the website I launched called Progress. Social media for my blog had a negligible effect on the blog, but did have a positive effect on my website.
4) What was your most "viral" post? In other words, which post obtained the most traffic? Why do you think?
The most viral post on my blog was "my Entrepreneurship Story." It received the most traffic I believe because it was the inaugural story on my page and was an honest look about how entrepreneurship has affected my life and my success.
5) Finally, did you make it to the first page of Google results for your keywords? If not, what page of results did you make it to?
I did not make it to the first page of Google results, it was actually very difficult to find my blog unless I typed out my first and last name.

Very Short Interview With Entrepreneur, Part 2

The similarities between my first entrepreneur, Vivian Filer and my second entrepreneur are striking because they both have an overwhelming passion for people. Even though both deal with different aspects of oratory, both combine their love of preserving under-served voices in the Gainesville community with the concept of speaking out against certain injustices.

Week 13 Reading Reflection

1. It is an old adage that stocks are largely decided based on emotion, but when discussing the microeconomics of running a small business, I was unaware of how much ethos plays a role in decision making. Especially for a smaller business, it would make sense to take logical, and rational risks.

2. Nothing confused me about the reading this week.

3. A question that I would ask the author is how can emotional reaction be measured in an unbiased manner? The whole point of measuring statistics is to take emotions out of it, so it would be interesting to understand how emotional decision making can be quantified.

4. I did not disagree with the author this week on the reading.

Celebrating Failure

A time where I failed this semester was actually attempting to launch my website called Progress. Originally I planned on connecting with other people via Sitey, and the launch of the website, with the first article already published. However, shortly after a lot of users were complaining regarding difficulties with seeing the website and constantly getting “404 error: page not found.” As someone who prides themselves on trying to make the inroads necessary to make systemic reforms in society, I was embarrassed for myself because I worked hard to get the website to be functional. The wavering in functionality persisted (partially because I let it) for a month and a half, including when the second article was released. Eventually I became fed up with the progress that Progress was making on Sitey, so I decided to rebuild a brand new website on Wix. The launch was a lot more successful on Wix, as the website functions well, and the potential for growth on Wix is very high.

My Exit Strategy

1. I fully expect to retire with the idea of making Progress. Even though the product will evolve as I get older, the concept of trying to push the boundaries of what it means to live in a just and equitable society. I also look to further evolve the mediums that the website can use to voice its concerns, including hosting conferences and developing programs for disadvantaged communities to get back on their feet.

2. I selected this exit strategy because this venture isn't the traditional type of venture. Most people wait until it is valuable enough to sell it. I want this venture to become a public good and something that people depend on as a sustainable platform to make their voices heard.

3. Because I don't plan on exiting from the venture, I can't say that "exiting" has influenced my decision. What influences my decision is how I best believe that I can serve the public, especially disadvantaged communities.

Week 12 Reading Reflection

1. For companies that are considering starting a venture it is really interesting to the amount of companies that either don't plan at all or don't plan enough. A business is the sum of opportunity, planning and execution. Any prospective business owner has to account for that.

2. I had no questions regarding the reading this week.

3. One question I would have for the author is "is there a 'textbook' way to begin planning out a venture," because a lot of startups just want advice from people who have experience doing this type of work. A follow up I would ask is how far out should you begin planning for the launch of the venture.

4. I did not disagree with the author this week.

Venture Concept No. 1

Our society is built upon the success of the pioneers and legends who came before us. Moving forward it is important that we move to give all people the platform’s necessary to make their voices heard.
In the words of one Sir Isaac Newton:
"If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants."
Each of us owe our individual success to a collective that came before and made our journey to being great far smoother than it would have been otherwise. That inherent value in being the future as well as actively paying tribute to the past is what will push the website to be successful. The website but more importantly this idea will move forward its survival will partially depend on you. The ability to move society forward, to really define and exemplify progress is what will move this website and the conversations it facilitates forward. Up until this point most websites and publications just focus on producing a superior product: Progress is focused on trying to fixate itself as a part of the lexicon.
I believe that in life the biggest indicator of success is the level of hard work. What separates people who have the ability to change the world from everybody else having the opportunity, but just as importantly, having the work ethic. My work ethic I believe is unmatched, especially when it comes to delivering performances and .
I believe someone who is effective in tapping into the conscience of the people can interface with them on the same subject in different ways. For example, Kanye West in many respects has become an archetype for hip-hop culture because he's been effective in communicating what hip-hop culture should be in music through revolutionizing hip-hop with soul samples, in fashion with his Yeezy fashion line and shoe collection and business. Likewise with me, I've had times where people have seen me give speeches and lectures and thought that I incorporated spoken word and vice-versa, or looked at my writing as a means to bring two sides of an issue together. As I mature, I only look to further to blur that line.
You can never know where you're going until you understand where you come from. For me, understanding the rich heritage I have in being the son of Haitian parents and being born as a black man in the United States gives me a view of life that most people don't get to have. It is up to me to utilize that origin to understand what in this society needs to be fixed and who and how it will be accomplished.
The most valuable resource is people. None of this, the organizing, any of the art or spoken word or music can't happen with people. Human capital is the most important thing in any society and its the most important thing about Progress.
I am among the furthest things from perfect. However, in order to fulfill the promise of the United States and the credo of wanting to form "a More Perfect Union," has to come people willing to lead towards that goal. This belief is what motivates me to utilize my abilities, because of the more equitable world that I would like to see. With my business concept, the website progress.sitey.me works to increase levels of civic engagement and social consciousness. For me, this website is the first sustained opportunity that I've taken to use a platform to make my voice heard.
At my age, my experience in involving myself not only into the political discussion on my campus but also my community gives me a unique breadth of information that most young people don't have. Not just personal and political experience, but social experience has come a long way in what you are able to achieve with those experiences and the experiences of others.
One of the biggest criticisms that I've seen regarding the website is that starting out it has to produce content more. Despite myself having an audience before and real life through politics and performing, I have to be able to consolidate that base onto the website. Solidifying a loyal audience will be dependent on giving them a constant stream of content to enjoy and analyze. Another is involve other writers. I cannot be the sole producer of content, regardless of whether its through poetry or essays/articles, I have to be able to incorporate more conservative and more liberal viewpoints than my own. Another key factor was how I can incorporate other platforms, and making sure that I have platform-specific marketing, meaning that I can't use the same marketing that I use on FB or Twitter that I use on Instagram. I've tried to incorporate this into a more holistic approach on how I create marketing, which involves using tools like Canva for Instagram in particular. I tried to incorporate a playlist on the website as well, which allows for potential artists to have a platform to receive different levels of rotation on their music. I incorporated it into my "napkin" by making sure that I can incorporate all people into my outreach platform.

Week 11 Reading Reflection

1. One aspect of the reading this week that I found to be interesting is how products actually come to fruition, and whether or not they reach the market. More so what I found to be interesting is how many products don't come to fruition or how many different interpretations of the same products it takes to bring to market.

2. Nothing about the reading this week really confused me

3. A question I would have for the author is are evaluation of trade-offs alter based on industry and if so, how?

4. I did not disagree with the author this week.

Business Drivers
One of the biggest economic drivers of Progress will be paid performances that contributors will be able to give as well as work that they are able to sell. Since there are so many places that produce articles to read, the articles will serve as promotional tools that will lead to more events and outreach.

What's Next?
I believe that it is time for the website to diversify and begin incorporating the artists necessary to bring in new audiences. I understand that people don't always focus on making change through politics or civic engagement alone. Some want to make progress through art or music, and the website has to accommodate for that.

How Will this Enhance the Product?
I believe that this will include new people in on the discussion on how to move people forward. One of the many beautiful things of the Civil Rights Movement was that people could make progress through sports, entertainment, social engagement, litigation and politics and that the success of the movement depended on all of those people being able to break down barriers.

Product Name: A New Engagement: Political Participation, Civic Life and the Changing American Citizen

The product is essentially a book version of part of the intention that my website has, which is to increase political engagement and social consciousness in hopes that people would think more critically of society. I believe at some point I could publish a book similar to this to supplement the work that the website has engaged in with this book serving as a model for how to do it.

Week 10 Reading Reflection

1. The most interesting aspect of the reading this week was the discussion about financial planning. As someone who is interested in investing and diversifying my sources of wealth, I believe being able to accurately map and plan how to where to increase wealth is imperative.
2. Nothing really confused me about the reading this week.
3. I would ask the author to clarify about pro forma statements and when are they best applicable.
4. I did not disagree with the author on anything this week

Idea Napkin No. 3

The feedback that I received was pretty much consistent with what I received after the second elevator pitch. The biggest concern I've received from people now is the color scheme, and I should change it from just black, white and gray to something that encourages the website to be a little more dynamic. As I move forward I want to not only change the color scheme but also the logo. To me there is something I can use that has more meaning to the idea of making progress than a lion.

My Secret Sauce

1) Describe five ways in which you think you have human capital that is truly unique:

  • My work ethic: I believe that in life, hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard. What separates people who have the ability to change the world from everybody else having the opportunity, but just as importantly, having the work ethic. I pride myself on having an unmatched work ethic that has allowed me to enjoy the successes that I've enjoyed so far in my life.
  • Intersections of Talents: I believe someone who is effective in tapping into the conscience of the people can interface with them on the same subject in different ways. For example, Jay Z in many respects has become an archetype for hip-hop culture because he's been effective in communicating what hip-hop culture should be in music, in fashion and business. Likewise with me, I've had times where people have seen me give speeches and lectures and thought that I incorporated spoken word and vice-versa, or looked at my writing as a means to bring two sides of an issue together. As I mature, I only look to further to blur that line.
  • Compassion: Any great leader has to be compassionate. It is an indispensable trait that I believe can go from solving the issue of poverty to ending military conflicts. Having compassion not only for your people but for others is imperative to understanding solutions.
  • Sense of Humor: I don't try to take myself too seriously all the time. Being able to stand back and really lighten up is a stress-relieving mechanism that I've adopted and that has helped me navigate more stressful periods in my life.
  • Understanding my Origins: You can never know where you're going until you understand where you come from. For me, understanding the rich heritage I have in being the son of Haitian parents and being born as a black man in the United States gives me a view of life that most people don't get to have. It is up to me to utilize that origin to understand what in this society needs to be fixed and who and how it will be accomplished.

3) Reflect on the differences.

To be completely candid I was very surprised at the responses that people gave me. I found them to very accurate, but they wouldn't be the first characteristics that I would point out about myself. Also I noticed that people focused more on the nuances in my personality than I did, which to me indicates that I keep good company that pays attention to even the smallest of details. I am curious to hear people's first impression of me and how they feel it compares to people that know me well.

Week 9 Reading Reflection

1) What was the biggest surprise for you in the reading? In other words, what did you read that stood out the most as different from your expectations?
Easily the most interesting thing that stood out to me this week was studying consumer spending habits. This information has lead search engines to collaborate with other companies to study your search patterns to try to convince you to buy things, why companies spend so much money on commercials during highly-watched TV events like the Super Bowl, World Cup Final and the World Series and why intermediary companies like Ali Baba and Uber, despite not owning a specific product or the rights to a specific service have taken up so much of the market.
2) Identify at least one part of the reading that was confusing to you.
There wasn't really anything that gave me too much difficulty with the reading this week. This is one of my favorite things to study about business.
3) If you were able to ask two questions to the author, what would you ask? Why?
I would ask the author how were the nuances in consumer spending tracked before the proliferation of technology that can track this information minute-to-minute, because I want to understand the speed in which the market operated at. Another question I would ask is how easy or how difficult was it for companies to influence consumer spending habits?
4) Was there anything you think the author was wrong about? Where do you disagree with what she or he said? How?
There is nothing that I really disagree with, usually I just would like the author to elaborate on certain points that they try to make. This week I would have like to have seen the author give more concrete instances of consumer spending habits.

Idea Napkin No. 2

1) You. Who you are. What your talents are. What your skills and experiences are. Also: what are your aspirations? Specifically regarding your business concept, how do you see this business (if you were to start it) playing a role in your life?
I am among the furthest things from perfect. However, in order to fulfill the promise of the United States and the credo of wanting to form "a More Perfect Union," has to come people willing to lead towards that goal. This belief is what motivates me to utilize my abilities, because of the more equitable world that I would like to see. With my business concept, the website progress.sitey.me works to increase levels of civic engagement and social consciousness. For me, this website is the first sustained opportunity that I've taken to use a platform to make my voice heard.
2) What are you offering to customers? Describe the product or service (in other words, how you'll solve customers' unmet needs).
The website will allow for people to have their voices heard, a platform to make their voice heard. The internet and social media have allowed for increased interconnection between millennials and younger people. Largely what people want is to have a chance to amplify their voices.
3) Who are you offering it to? Describe, in as much detail as possible, the demographic and psychographic characteristics of your customers. Think especially of this question: what do your customers all have in common?
I am offering the website to anyone who wants a platform to make their voices heard. Traditionally in the United States, marginalized communities have been PoC's (people of color), gender minorities (women, trans, gender neutral/gender fluid), and the economically disadvantaged.
4) Why do they care? Your solution is only valuable insofar as customers believe its valuable to them. Here, explain why customers will actually pay you money to use your product or service.
They care because government is not the only means to make your voice heard in a society. The most critical aspect in delivering a message is the platform in which you deliver it on, and it will serve well to amplify that message through conventional and progressive means.
5) What are your core competencies? What sets you apart from everyone else? Also: what do you have that nobody else has?
At my age, my experience in involving myself not only into the political discussion on my campus but also my community gives me a unique breadth of information that most young people don't have. Not just personal and political experience, but social experience has come a long way in what you are able to achieve with those experiences and the experiences of others.

One of the biggest criticisms that I've seen regarding the website is that starting out it has to produce content more. Week 8 Reading Reflection

1) What was the biggest surprise for you in the reading? In other words, what did you read that stood out the most as different from your expectations?
Nothing really stood out for me this week but it was nice to brush up on different funding formats that a business could undergo. As I launched my website a few weeks ago and as we expand, it will be important that I be able to secure funding to expand on our interests.
2) Identify at least one part of the reading that was confusing to you.
Nothing was really confusing about the reading for me this week, just making sure that I can distinguish from all the different types of funding that exist.
3) If you were able to ask two questions to the author, what would you ask? Why?
The first question I would ask the author is if he had a company, what format (LLC, PLLC, 501(c)3 non profit, etc.) would he choose to utilize and would he take it public. I think that might highlight any bias that he may have had in writing the text. I would also ask how might he go about the process of securing funding.
4) Was there anything you think the author was wrong about? Where do you disagree with what she or he said? How?
I did not disagree with anything the author wrote, because the process of listing how business can receive funding or the ways they can go public are pretty subjective.

Half-Way Reflection

Tenaciousness is a skill. What are the behaviors that you have used (or developed) to keep up with the requirements of this course?
Image result for innovation academy

The most prevalent behavior that I've used during this course has undoubtedly been my ability to be resourceful and intuitive. A lot of assignments in this class demand that you be able to discern situations that demand you exert your influence with people in real-time.
2) Tenaciousness is also about attitude. Talk about a moment or two when you felt like "giving up." What pulled you through? Do you feel like you've developed a tenacious attitude during the past two months? What experience or experiences most contributed to this?
To be honest the moments I feel like giving up are when I miss an assignment or I could complete the requirements due to circumstance. there are a lot of things that are out of control of a student, and even this being an online class, taking it during a semester which most Innovation Academy students are full time students taking classes on campus proves to be challenging.
3) Three tips. What are three tips you would offer next semester's student about (1) fostering the skills that support tenacity and (2) developing the 'tenacious mindset' ?
1. Schedule ahead, preferably by a week. If you do everything a week in advance, it will at least give you at minimum 3-5 school days which to rectify your mistakes.
2. Be unafraid to meet new people and be in new situations that force you to make those types of decisions in real time.
3. Stay hungry. Tenacity is all about being hungry for bigger and more serious responsibility, and this class challenges you to be unabashed and unafraid of taking on such responsibility.

Week 7 Reading Reflection

1) What was the biggest surprise for you in the reading? In other words, what did you read that stood out the most as different from your expectations?
The biggest thing that I found intriguing about the reading was how many different aspects of a singular company and how many different types of company there are. I believe this has come as the American economy has diversified.
2) Identify at least one part of the reading that was confusing to you.
There was't really any part of the reading that was confusing.
3) If you were able to ask two questions to the author, what would you ask? Why?
The first question I would have for the author is how the sharing economy and innovations like bitcoin have changed how new entrepreneurs decide to start businesses and how they decide to involve themselves in this economy. The second question is how will existing companies try to evolve to keep up with the constantly changing tastes and preferences of the American consumer.
4) Was there anything you think the author was wrong about? Where do you disagree with what she or he said? How?
There wasn't really anything I disagreed with, just the former I would like him to elaborate on.

Free Money

When I read the premise of this assignment I was very intrigued. However I wanted it to be more than just giving a people a dollar. I want the exercise to reflect the best parts of the American economy: when its members can use the prosperity that they've achieved for themselves and offer others the opportunity to do the same.

My exercise would do more than just ask people if they'd want to have a dollar (I can't imagine anyone that would refuse).

It would ask of them to do the same,

I would challenge people to think of a way to make at least three dollars from the one dollar (which is at minimum 200% profit). Then I'd ask to give them to give one of those dollars to someone else and repeat the process. This is not only indicative of our income tax system (capping around 39 percent), but reinforces that people not only have a legal but more importantly a moral responsibility to engage themselves in the success of others.

Elevator Pitch No. 2

in this elevator pitch I wanted to expound on the successes that we have made since the inception and launch of the website. It is important when launching a startup within the first year to make rapid progress to inspire potential investors to continue to invest in your company or your product. Was progress this is included featuring artists, being featured in publications, and writing quality material.

Week 6 Reading Reflection

1. The most interesting aspect of the reading is how he managed to merge family and business together. If anything I believe that this shows his bias toward believing that an effective way to run a business is with family.

2. I didn't have any question or confusion with the reading this week.

3. Two questions I would ask the author is how do you account for how bias either towards or against family can potentially have a negative effect on business, as well as his stance on having friends be long term business partners, because of the risk involved in souring these relationships.

4. I didn't disagree with the author this week

Idea Napkin No. 1

1) You.
I believe that my greatest strength is my work ethic. In the kind of work that I do, you have to have persistence and a great work ethic, because laziness cheats not only yourself, but the people you're trying to help.

2) What are you offering to customers?
Progress offers the opportunity to forward discussion through articles, virtual galleries and performances in song, poetry and spoken word.

3) Who are you offering it to?
This website is targeted for those who believe in the idea of a plural solution to moving our society forward.

4) Why do they care?
They care because they believe that there is multiple ways to get to the same destination.

5) What are your core competencies?
What sets Progress apart from everyone else is its ability to capture and maintain the attention of its audience.

Interviewing Customers No. 2

1. Believe the website idea is just as feasible as it was when I developed it. I just have to ensure that as I continue to interview customers I have to ensure that I am interviewing people from very diverse backgrounds.

2. I had to be sure that I didn't just moderate good questions but received good answers, which is also contingent on the people that I chose to interview. From the first set of interviews, I made sure that I interviewed diverse people. During my first set of interviews I interviewed people who were born and raised in the United States. With this set, I respected the diversity of the interviewees and how their culture may affect how they participate in service and social consciousness.

3. I believe that the opportunity with this website and the potential it has is immense. I think its success will be dependent on the people I can collaborate with, which is why I interviewed people who are native born American citizens and immigrants, Greeks who stress community services and non-Greeks.

4. Three tips I would offer to future students of this classes
a.) Just be yourself. It shows in both your questions and their answers if you're trying to be something you're not.
b.) Be passionate. With me, I think that asking questions about civic engagement helped propel the conversation from just question/answer to discussion/
c.) Ask questions that force interviewees to think. when you ask questions that require deep thought you get more comprehensive answers.

Week 5 Reading Reflection

1) What was the biggest surprise for you in the reading? In other words, what did you read that stood out the most as different from your expectations?
The biggest thing that differentiate itself from the rest of the reading this week was the number of first year projects that seem to fail. I would think that a lot more people who are beginning a venture would look at their specific markets and the product or service they're providing as well as common reasons why first year ventures fail so frequently.
2) Identify at least one part of the reading that was confusing to you.
I wasn't really confused by the concepts of the reading, but I feel like talking about patent law in a class like this made no sense because the scope of patent law is way too deep to just briefly touch on.
3) If you were able to ask two questions to the author, what would you ask? Why?
One question I would ask is whether or not the author knows of any common solutions that could help more people sustain their ventures after a year. When its that large of a number of people failing after their first year, then I think it is imperative to have common solutions. That many people failing isn't just detrimental to them as individuals, but to local and regional economies as a whole. Another question I would ask is how would those solutions be catered to specific industries, because the solutions found in agriculture wouldn't be exactly the same to those in manufacturing or technology.
4) Was there anything you think the author was wrong about? Where do you disagree with what she or he said? How?
I don't disagree with anything the author discussed this week.

Week 4 Reading Reflection

What was the biggest surprise for you in the reading? In other words, what did you read that stood out the most as different from your expectations?

It wasn't much of a surprise, but one of the most pleasant parts of the reading was the creative process. I do find the creative process to be subjective however. For example, I wouldn't expect J. Cole's creative process to be the same as Kendrick Lamar's, or even for the two to have the same steps in their respective processes. This doesn't prohibit them from creating creative works that a lot of people can enjoy. I do both spoken word, sing and rap and my creative process is something entirely different, but that doesn't mean that I can't appreciate someone else's process.

Identify at least one part of the reading that was confusing to you.

I think that I wasn't very perplexed with the reading this week because I was so interested by the discussion regarding the creative process, only helped me understand it more.

If you were able to ask two questions to the author, what would you ask? Why?

The first question I would ask is if he allowed someone else to write that section, would he think that the section about the creative process would come out different, because of my belief of how the process is different to everyone else. My second question is does he think that someone's process can evolve, because I feel like mine has.

Was there anything you think the author was wrong about? Where do you disagree with what she or he said? How?

There wasn't anything I disagreed with, just felt like everyone's creative process is different. Especially since creativity manifests in different forms across multiple disciplines, I wish the author would have collaborated with multiple people from multiple disciplines to get a more holistic approach to the creative process.

Top 5 World Problems

“If you aren't in over your head, how do you know how tall you are?”
-T.S. Eliot

Ranking the World's Biggest Problems

1. Colorism across cultures causing discriminatory practices.

2. Fear of Disease

3. Governmental Instability

4. Extinction Across Species/Ecosystems

5. Worldwide Income Inequality

Ranking the World's Biggest Solutions

1. The solution to extinction (legislation/policy)

2. The solution to fear of disease (better tracking, prevention)

3. The solution to governmental instability (soft power increase)

4. The solution to colorism (better understanding of other peoples and cultures)

5. The solution to income inequality (promoting economies to be more efficient and fair)

The reason why I chose income inequality as both the most important and the most difficult problem and solution is because it is the one issue that directly affects every person on Earth. How we move to solve those issues can determine almost all the other issues I listed, from being more responsible with our ecosystems to resolving issues with governments that can be economically and politically unstable.
